“I am Iron Man.”
“Sometimes you’ve gotta run before you can walk.”
Anthony Edward Stark is the CEO & Chairman of Stark Industries, NY; best known by his alias — ‘Iron Man’. Born to industrialist and weapons manufacturer Howard Stark, and Maria Stark, Tony was a child prodigy with exceptional intellect and penchant for invention and technology. One of his earliest feats include graduating from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology, at the age of 20.
In 2010, after a surviving a near-fatal attack by the Afghanistan-based terrorist group Ten-Rings, Stark created the first-ever ‘Iron Man’ exoskeleton— a red & gold wearable armour powered by the arc-reactor technology. At the ‘heart’ of this suit, lies the ‘arc reactor’ — a technology initiated by Howard Stark. Which Tony later enhanced and adapted into multiple versions of the ‘Iron Man’.
The impulsive announcement of his alter ego to the world sought the attention of Nicholas ‘Nick’ Fury— the director of S.H.I.E.L.D, a global intelligence agency, who then recruited him to the “Avengers Initiative”. Stark, along with Captain Steve Rogers, Thor, Bruce Banner, and agents Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton went on to form the ‘Avengers’ — a group of enhanced individuals, tasked to protect the earth from extra-terrestrial invasions.
The most notable additions to Stark’s technological repertoire are J.A.R.V.I.S and F.R.I.D.A.Y. both, AI voice-powered systems that help to control and manage the Iron Man suit collection. J.A.R.V.I.S. is later given a physical form as Vision— an exceptionally powerful synthezoid.
With the Avengers, Stark has gone on to fight many a battle, against a wide range of enemies from science and tech giants like Aldrich Killian ‘Mandarin” to Loki — The Lord of Mischief and Thor’s adoptive brother!
The armored genius then locked horns, with Thanos—The tyrant Titan who almost whipped out half of the world’s population. The tussle between Tony and the Titan was a classic tale of triumph of good over evil.
